Need help i stripped a drain bolt.

Hey guys i have a 06 kx250f and i was changing my oil today and i stripped my sump oil drain bolt and i was wondering how i need to go about fixing like tap and rethread or wut and if u have the tap size and all that for me and also things to watch out for while doing this because i want to fix it right. thanks alot for your help.

This has been covered many, many times. In all honesty, use the search and you will come up with more information than you care to know.

That being said, your best bet is going to be either a helicoil or a timesert.

thanks for your help. i was actually looking for a specific application to someone who had this problem with the same bike and bolt so that i was as exact as possible. i had already searched and did not find someone who had done this with the same bike as i did. and where would i go about getting a timesert. thanks

you will need to split the cases so you do not get shavings from drilling and tapping in your motor... Then pick up the right thread pitch of a Heli coil or Timesert and install it.

I have witnessed professional mech's do this repair without splitting the cases, fill the gaps in the tap with grease to catch the shavings.
