I cant remember the name of mine...something 2000 but anyways it was rather cheap like $120 and i mounted it on my bars. It seems to hold up rather well except for the roost but other than that you can do just about any normal crash aslong as you dont atemp stupid stunts and go over the bars and happen to smack it with your boots like i did other than that i havent had any problems with it.

www.helmetcamera.com has a very good mounting system. I fell on my head a few time in the rocks at Moab and worse it ever did was knock it loose from the velcro on the helmet. Very durable. You can get cheaper ones.

Do a search on helmet cameras (thousands of posts) and then look up all the sites that are referenced to see what is out there.

I remember seeing one that had a housing they claimed you could run over with a truck. Can't remember the brand. Oh well, Google is your friend.

All of the components of a helmet cam are subject to damage. Whatever you use as a recorder is more likely to get damaged if its mounted to the rider. I would worry more about getting a cheap recorder since most of the helmet cam setups out there are all about the same price and durability:bonk: . The units that mount with velcro and closer to the helmet surface are probably less likely to get broken in my opinion.
