I thought it would be cool to see what other WR owners thought of the various mags. out there. is there a better mag. out there for all around off- roaders ? The moto cross stuff isnt really my main interest. Id like to subsribe to a mag. that generally is about maintaining, improving, off road bikes, and talks about where to ride, how to improve your riding , etc.... Anyone have thoughts on this ? thanks, bob

I've been getting Trail Rider magazine . It's from the east coast and has alot of good articles about off-road bikes and very little about MX/SX. There are some good tests and reviews on the website http://www.trailride...id=122&Itemid=2 There's also a great off road magazine from Austrailia , but the name of it escapes me right now.

WR Dave. :applause:

I love the dirtbike mag from USA, they always have great bike build-up's! Seem to be the best offroad mag for sure!

Australian DirtBike and Dirt Action are the biggest over here. I find the Aussie one are ok, but they are usually one step behind, and I have usually seen everything in the mags before they come out anyway. Chalk that one up to the internet....

I know about those 2 Aussie mags , but a friend just came back and brought a new one back that I hadn't heard of , but I still can't think of the name. It dealt with mostly enduro and off road bikes. Very informative. WR Dave.

Dust Rider. A new mag. Mostly off road oriented. I've read two issues so far and I like it. Good write-ups so far. I've read artilces about Gas Gas, Huseburg, YZ coverted for trails, KLX 450. so far really good.

I've had a sub to Dirt Bike for many years and I'm not going to renew this year. The rag has turned into nothing but puff pieces, goofy hair-brained drivel and advertisements, advertisements, and more advertisements.

Thinking of getting a sub to TWMX.

The one I like now is Trail Bike Adventures out of Australia, but the best of all time is Dirt Bike from 1971- mid 1974. The mag was cutting edge you trully got the straight skinny. We will never see another like it too much pressure now to fill the mag with ads.

I think you're talking about DUST. It is a newer Bi-monthly off road mag. Very good quality pics, and articles. My wife commented on how good the quality of paper is too. Not like the thin cheap paper of other rags. And they cover nearly all of our District-37 races, along with District-36. This is a true Off-Road mag. Probably wont see too much about Carmichael, or Stewart in there but do we really care?

TWMX=Transworld Motocross. I got a free sub when I bought some stuff from Motosport. Too track oriented for me. If you want trail and open riding articles it's not for you. Mostly just cover the bikes you'd use on a track.

I've had Dirt Rider for a couple of years, and have always been a fan of Dirt Bike going back to Super Hunky, but think both have gotten way too fluffy. All pictures, no articles of depth. I just subscribed to Racer X. I like the pictures and the articles, especially focusing on older motocrossers.

I decided to try Dirtrider and Dirtbike both for a year. I would like to buy a copy of Dust , that some spoke of , Ive never heard of it before . Hope I can find it somewhere.

I think Dirt Rider is a bit more technical than Dirt Bike. I prefer Rider to the others. Racer X is more about the people than the bikes. I dont think they even do tests.

I just looked that DUST magazine up and the website doesn't look right. Subscriptions are $.01 Must be just getting rolling. Anyone know of another way to get it?

Barney's Fun With Numbers is more technical than Dirt Bike Magazine...

Even "Mr. Know it All" changed the name of his column to "The Obnoxious Idiot"
