Dealsgap.comMy family and I went to the mountains today and hiked to a waterfall. Then we looped around and seen a dam. We went through Deal's Gap and drove on the dragon in our Ford Explorer. There were so many sport bikes flying through the turns and it was amazing. Many times we had to pull off to let bikes pass us. We seen about 4 hayabusas and alot of r6/r1. Have any of you TT'ers around the NC/TN border ever rode the dragon. It looks like a place that also has trails for dirtbikes and I'm going to check it out. Check them out at Dealsgap.com

Yeah,I rode it back in '04 when I had a SV650. It doesn't get much better on pavement. There are probably a lot of Supermoto guys on this site who have ridden it or want to. Hyper horsepower is really a liability there.

I have seen many pictures of TT'ers riding there bikes on it, check the picture forum.
Looks like a real fun place to rip a supermoto or a nasty little streetbike!

Over on another forum I frequent people pull large rides together all the time. In fact, the entire forum setup a group ride. I need a bike that I can tour down there and ride on, the XT doesn't quite cut it :)

I live about a hour and a half from there, been riding it since the early 90`s. Use to be a really cool place but now a little crowded. The cruisers are the wrost part, travel in gangs and slow as crap, will get on your nerves fast.

They built the Cherhola (sp) skyway in the mid 90`s, it`s right down the road on 129 in Robbinsville, 45 miles of pure heaven. If you go the skyway is a must.

If you travel there be sure and stay a few days, lots of good roads. After you get over the skyway you`ll hit 68, you can turn left and run into 60 and the roads of north Ga. Some of the roads there in Suches Ga. are just as good, maybe better and a lot more of them.

I've ridden the Dragon at Deal's Gap several times. It's an amazing stretch of pavement. The Cherohala Skyway is also a must ride if your going to be in the area. Check out www.tailofthedragon.com for another website that covers the area.
