Hey now,Just scored a stock xrl last week with 1200 miles on it,like new..sweet..I can't get it too idle from a cold start, wants to backfire and die.Once I have ridden a couple of blocks idles fine.Is this because of the smog stuff? Also was wondering if I can leave stock exhaust on for now and do the snorkel,de-smog,and dyno-jet?Any and all info greatly appreciated.
Thanks...

Welcome,

I would skip the dynojet and just do the "daves Mods" It does basically the same thing, and is almost free. Most guys have had an equal or better experience with these modifications.

I'm sure pianoexcellence would have included in his post that the stock pipe will be ok with these mods also. That's how I am running mine at the present, but have been thinking of a new pipe lately.

I run a stock pipe with daves mods.

I use 55\158 for the jetting at sea level and the screw turned 2-1\4 out. I de-snorkeled and de-smogged it, and pulled the baffle.

It seems a little lean with the baffle pulled...
