I have finally got myself a road bike. After a long time of humin and arghing. It is an 03 Yamaha R1 and boy does it go  See the link on my website for pics

Does anyone have any useful tips for the bike, does it have any quirks i should know of, don't forget this is my first road bike so even the simplest of things i probably will not be aware of :excuseme:

Best tip for that bike, go easy on the throttle until you're familiar with it. It can easily put you on your backside, which would be harmful to such a nice looking bike. Enjoy it.

Does the moderator there know something I don't.

Just kidding, nice bike. Be careful over there and stay away from the speed cameras. :busted:

+1 - the liter bikes demand more respect/control.

I had a taste of that on my first day, going up a motorway i decided to overtake a car that was doing around 50. This time i wanted to hear the exhaust note above 5000 revs so leaving it in 2nd i opened it up a little and then the front end came right up on me  As i am no stranger to wheelies on my KTM it didn't bother me at all, infact dare i say it i thought it was pretty cool, though it wasn't my intention to do a wheelie:naughty: as soon as i got the front end back under control i looked at the speedo and it was reading 92mph  That is the fastest wheelie i have ever done :busted:

If i went down on the bike i would be devastaded, not so much for me as i have free health care via the NHS but my bike unfortunately isn't covered by the NHS and that will hurt my pockets.
