I have a 00 yz426 I recently rebuilt the clutch and it is already starting to go out again. I wish I would have know about the 01 clutch upgrade. Last time I pulled out the clutch there was alot of backlash in the clutch basket gear. Is this normal? If not can I put a 01 or newer clutch basket in or do I need to update to a 01-02 yz426 basket?

Check the following link: http://www.thumperta...ad.php?t=461631

Just did the 01 mod. Works great. You need to make sure your stock 00 basket is in good shape to start with. A really good mod for the 00.

I will do the 01 mod for sure, I was just wondering if backlash in the clutch basket gear is normal or if I should get a whole new basket?
