Xr650l Stock Chain Links?

how many links are ther on a stock 06 xr650l? I got the bike with a 40 toother in the rear and I want to switch to a 48 or so...Im sure that links were removed to put such a small sprocket on. anyone know?

Just wondering... who makes that 40 tooth rear sprocket? I am looking to go smaller on my 650L, and was told by the "know it all's" at XR's only that no other sprockets were available for front or rear!!!

I hear if you redrill the sprocket (or was it the hub?) to clear a larger bolt, you can use a CR rear sprocket. CR250 was that?
