Hi everyone. I am new to the site and I must say that there is a load of information here. Here's my situation: I am 27 years old and looking into getting back into bikes. I was on a bike from the age of 7 to 23. My last bike was a 1997 CR250. I was primarily into racing motocross. I haven't been on a bike since I was 23. I want a bike for trail riding/motocross type of riding, but not to race. My future "cousin in law" had a 2000 yz 426 that he sold to a friend. They are the only two owners of the bike. The bike probably has a total of 40-50 hours on it. The guy who owns it now has taken great care and maintained the bike perfect. He has added a few mods to the bike. The bike is in great condition. He is asking $2000 for it. Any thoughts????

I appreciate your replies.

My last bike was an '97 CR250 and now I have an '02 426 and love it. Great bike and mostly bulletproof.

Thanks! I rode the bike this last weekend and I loved the power delivery. Do you think the price is fair?

Thanks. I know the first owner quite well and I know that the bike was hardly ridden and taken care of. The current owner I know, but not that well. After looking at the bike in his shop (which was very clean and organized) and talking to him, I can tell the bike has been well taken care of. Thanks again.

I think that if you know the bike and its shape $2000 is okay. Not a steal but not a rip off either. I paid $2300 for an 2000 in 2005 from a friend who is anal about maintenance.
