After reading a few other posts about insurance I think my quote was a bit high for full coverage insurance for a 650L. Allstate wants $518 a year or about $40 a year liability only. I am in Florida. Anyone else in Florida here with some current rates they can share?
Thanks,
db

I just checked Progressive Insurance and I can change the rates more to my liking  but I would still like to hear from you Florida folks that have full coverage on their 650L's.
Thanks,
db

added: Is anyone a member of the Honda Riders Club of America and if so, how much of an insurance discount does it get you? Is joining worthwhile?

I'm in the panhandle...I just figured some elderly lady might run it over in a parking spot at WalMart or something so I wanted to be covered. Also, if it was stolen I wouldn't be happy buying another new one! But you have a point there...my old XT600 I bought new many years ago was financed thru the dealer and required full coverage so I paid it off as fast as I could and just had liability.

I think your gettin ripped! I live in NY, insurance is much higher here, and I'm paying $250/yr full coverage on an '07... but then again I may be older than you! maybe shop around a little more. I have State Farm for everything, they give a discount if you have multiple policies with them.

I'm in CA and I pay $19 a month for full coverage through State Farm... plus I'm 22 and male so my rates should be wayyy up. They did give me some sort of discount for my mom being with them since she was 18 though

I find its the "uninsured motorist" coverage and the medical coverage for the rider and/or passenger that raise the premium the most. I got mine down to about $150 a year full coverage which I can live with

Thats not totally correct you dont have to have these plated so therefor you are not required by the state to insure it if its a OHV stickered vehicle

But i pay 135/year in CA for mine Gonna go down a bit i hope i took the DMV/CHP MSF safety course and they say most will give youa 15% for taking the safety course.
