Pilot jet replacement...

On a 2004 Yz450f, If I want to replace the Pilot jet with the next larger size, can I just keep the carb on the bike, and remove the float bowl nut, and access the old pilot jet from the opening?

Yes you can. It is a little tricky, but I have done it many times.
