New XR650R owner saying hi, and got my bike titled in PA!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

My name is Steve, I'm a proud owner of a new to me 2003 XR650R. I got my bike from California with a title. I was reading around the forum some guys stuck stickers over the "off road" part of the title, so I figured what the heck all they can do is say no right? I got address labels made with the address of the nearest Honda dealer to the address on the title and stuck it on. Well today I went down to my local notary and handed them my handy mans special title and all they wanted was a VIN tracing and my bill of sale. They even punched in the VIN into the computer nothing threw a red flag ?. If anyone else is around the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania feel free to say hi.

:ride: Congrats Steve on your new machine!

HECK YEA, I'm from LV ! ? Just west of Neffs a bit. Lived in LV all my life.

Where are you at ? I'm in the process of buying an L model, hope the process happens soooon. Been 22 years since I had a behemoth single 4 stroke. I had a brand new 83 600, that was my favorite bike of all times, except it was finicky :ride: starting sometime. Won't have that worry any more though with ES ! ?

Maybe we can go for rides together, how about it?

I'm in Salisbury Twp. in between South Allentown and Fountain Hill. Just got to do a bit of tinkering to get it inspected and running, I'm turning into a supermoto $$$$$. Hopefully by next spring I'll be on the road, have to save for our vacation right now, but as soon as we get back thats my priority. I can't wait to ride it on the street, never in my life ridden on the street just dirt. I'd love to get a ride going on a regular basis, I see a bunch of dual sports and starting to see a couple supermotos around locally.

I know exactly where that is, I cruise through there all the time. Matter of fact, I know a guy that lives somewhere in that same area that cruises a 83 XL 600. He's around 50 or so. If you ever see him, walk up to him and say "Hi John, how ya doing?" that will freak him out! ?

Tell him you talked to Gary on here, from Hutchinson Oil Co.

For sure, we'll get together someday! ?

I've seen an older XR running around by my house, I think it's white with blue and red graphics. I'll let you know when it's up and running. When do you think you'll get your L and what dealership are you going to get it from?

No dealer ship for me buddy.

I don't care for the red L's at all, I'm shopping for a older "Great White" that still have "real" tank graphics on. ?

What the heck, they have been the exact same bike since 93, sensless to me to buy new when there are TONS of them out there at such bargin prices.

Going to send you a PM in a bit...........

John, the 600 guy in your neighborhood, is on an all red one, the one your seeing is like a 86 or 7 I think.

Going to get all your SM parts by way of ebay or TT members?

Sometimes on Ebay the stuff goes for more then what I can get it new, people just get caught up in the moment sometimes or just don't search around for a lower price. But I did buy my bike off of Ebay. I already got CRF450R USD forks for it and there installed, just have to grind the steering stops. I'd like to get the frame and some other things powder coated, will see. Been watching too much OCC ?. Not going to go crazy on the engine just a edelbrock and exhaust.
