Ha ha. I should fit right in. About 100 years ago I read an article about how to get a sponsor. They said win races. DUH. and do something different to make yourself stand out. Well I was already winning races so my idea was to wear a Hawaiian shirt over my riding gear for the entire season. IT WORKED!:) I think I still have the old torn and tattered shirt in a box somewhere.

Anyone interested in a 150 mile ride? The IronButt 150.........Blewett Pass to West Bar and back.

TONY

Katy and I are very interested, but are not available the last two weekends in June. We vote for July 7th or 14th (or September)

What about the last Saturday of June. Actually the snow has a lot to do with how early we can do it. Table Mt. opens up on the 15th of June and we like to include some of the single track in the ride. I was kinda of hoping Tony and I could get in there and check out the upper road that connects The Cooke Canyon side with the Colockum side. That might totally change the route of the Iron Butt this year.

Not available the last two weekends of June. I meant to say that in my above post. I wrote July by mistake. I went back and fixed my mistake.

I posted this in another thread. I'm just getting back into riding again after a 19 year absence and ride a 2001 Honda CR 250 R. I feel like I'm picking it up pretty fast again. I would like to get a trail-happy 12 or 13 oz FWW soon, but I figure I'm learning throttle and clutch control in the mean time. If you all don't mind a newbie tag-along, let me know when you all decide to go back up there. What level of riding is it? How far is it from Seattle?

Thanks,

David

Other than a few of the rock sections it is very easy riding. It is about 125 miles from Seattle. Your only difficulty might be the mileage limits of your tank. We generally have one loop that will be 60 to 75 miles. You might have to pack gas unless you have an oversize desert tank.

Get a couple of these 32 oz models and maybe three if you have room. I wouldn't screw around with pop bottles or gatorade bottles.

Nice! I found some for $12.95 each with free shipping for any purchase over $50 (4 bottle for $51.80, no tax and free shipping). Here is where I found them.

Also empty oil bottles work really well. I have used 2stroke premix bottles which are 32 ounces each. The aluminum 32 ouncers would be ideal.

My friend made the trip to the river and back on his KTM200 with the stock tank and never even hit reserve.

Those KTM 200s are great on fuel when jetted correctly. Was that the ride you did with us? Which means he did 63 miles I think.

Speaking of jetting, is anyone willing to walk a newbie through the jetting process? I have read over the procedures, but it's kinda abstract unless I have something tangible to look at.

Yep, he was getting on it and putting extra miles on. He probably did 65 miles on a tank. He really proved me wrong  . I figured we would be giving him fuel before the end of the ride or towing him back. How much fuel did he have left when we got back to the trucks? Was he on fumes?

This week end I am doing Taneum. I am going to show some folks around the trails. Of course your invited if your interested.

Now that school is out and I don't have to drive bus I will be available for some mid week rides too. I have an itch to explore the Green dots and see how the snow melt is coming along. I would love to get to Mission Ridge lookout.

LOL i was a little worried id run out, but i had my extra oil with me and our buddy on the DR-Z with the super tanker gas tank  So i knew I wouldnt be compleatly stranded.

I know when i do Race pace she guzzels it pretty fast.....one lap of the desert 100 puts it right at the reserve. So i was plesently supprised :busted:
