Lost: JD blue needle

Recommended Posts

does anyone want to sell me a JD blue needle, I played around all weekend with the combinations of blue/red at different positions and found the perfect setting on the blue needle, Then somehow ridiculously I lost it in transit while testing the red one. PM me or post if anyone can help me out, my JD jetting dream came true now it is gone, ha

Your saying that JD will not sell you a replacement needle after you bought a kit and lost one. That is BS and poor customer service if that is the case. I proudly display the fact that I run JD's jets but I would have a real problem in swallowing that. I would call back and keep asking for the next higher in charge until I found one willing to keep a customer.

Would you be willing to trade your red needle for a blue needle? If so, I'll trade you my blue for your red.

The PM below matches an identical email, and was sent from Jeremy earlier...

Hi, I recently had a JD kit for a 99 WR 400 bought for me and after messing with what needle/position I like best in transit I lost my red needle, is it possible to buy one separately? Not sure of the order number etc, my aunt bought it for me. A used one would be fine as well, let me know, This is very dissapointing as I was having amazing results with the red needle. I just had to try one more combo with the blue....I am willing to buy another kit if I need to. thank you Jeremy

Was the lost needle a Red needle? --As was emailed and as the Personal Message said,

-or-

Was the lost needle a Blue needle? --As the posting here says a Blue Needle was lost.

Please send me another email, this should be interesting...

Maybe I'll speak with your aunt about it.

Thanks,

James

HMMMMM.... Something is amiss now isn't it. I may have been a little premature in my accusation of alleged poor customer treatment. In my defense, this smoking gun quote below was posted a day after my reply.

how bout we work a deal with just the needle and maybe a 48 pilot and a MJ, not interested in the boysen really

If you really had bought JD's Kit, you wouldn't need the pilot and main because they are in the kit already. Unless you lost them too, in which case you might as well buy the whole kit again. Not cool.

I would be happy to give you our order number, Oh and I am not willing to buy another one of your kits, I guess that makes two lies in your email

Jeremy,

The Red marked needle will work great too, and I thought you would at least consider the jetting suggested in my email reply (although it appears for the wrong needle now). Some explanation of how and where the part was lost, and some effort to locate it and try my recommendations seems appropriate before a replacement should be asked for.

Give us a call with your past order information and we'll take care of you.

Thanks,

James

wow, I feel like a republican and you guys are the misleading liberal mainstream media, For one the JD kit does not come with a 48 pilot, only mains and 2 needles (and washers), and why not get another 170 main from that dude who was wanting to sell it? I have the stock pilot jet with the screw turned out almost 4 times. And yes I did get your recommendation about how to utilize the blue needle JD, at which point I discovered my error ( I "considered" it until that point of course)....However I have made it work since then but why not try and get the blue marked one as well? and your assertion that I have not looked for the part, or thought about it at all, or tried to accommodate the setup w/o the needle is A) untrue, a logical guy would assume you would look for a part that essentially just cost someone 80 w/ shipping and ? why should I feel threatened and misrepresented by simply inquiring about being helped out with the lost half of my family's 80 dollar purchase? Your Junior College degree on your wall would be ashamed of your customer service skills, presumption of innocence brother, especially before I can defend myself...wow

Jeremy,

Up until yesterday, I thought you had the primary, Blue marked needle for your kit. In a '99 WR400, most riders would be set with the Blue needle. I recognize it's an important part of your jet kit.

Losing a part isn't the type of situation that most companies would warranty. We cover bent, worn, scratched, or any sort of damage on our parts, but not normally losing parts.

I did not intend to alienate you or belittle your situation. I wanted to confirm that you made a reasonable effort to find the part and had actually made a purchase. My apologies if this came across as condescending.

I'll send an email and arrange for a replacement Blue marked needle.

Thanks,

James

Warranty??? He didn't ask for a warranty -- sounds like he offered to buy a replacement for the one he lost. This thread should not have happened. JD Jetting should have sold him a replacement right from the-get-go.?

Ibis,

Jeremy might be the most honest person around, and deserve to have the parts replaced with no questions asked.

The problem for us is separating the honest people from those trying to get a discount part, and making up stories to deceptively cut out retailers like Thumpertalk and motorcycle shops. At first glance, something didn't seem right about the request, losing the part and asking for 2 different replacements only a few days later. Now, after some discussion, it becomes more clear. I'm willing to listen and be flexible when a good case is made.

Thanks,

James
