That was the most fun I've ever had on a motorcycle :excuseme: My wife had fun too once she got out on the track. I can't remember the last time I was this sore... it's taken me half an hour just to write this post.

Anybody else from the board there today?

The only other place I've ridden is Brown's camp, which I've gone to 4 times, and that's it, that's my entire dirt riding history.

I've heard China Hat in central OR is fun, I'm thinking though of doing one of the open practices at Washougal before winter. I'm hooked on riding tracks

How about you? Any parks/tracks that are must rides?

Also, I'm considering taking a track class or two... do you think it's worth it for someone not intending to race?

I'm sure it's worth it, It it helps you ride faster which equals more fun than it's worth a few hundred bucks in my book :excuseme:

Central Oregon is a blast. I think I'm headed up to Eddieville next weekend, thats a real fun GP style course. We should go ride sometime, lemme know

That's funny, I was thinking of going on that Saturday (Oct 4) for the open playday. It looks like a blast. Were you thinking of going Saturday or Sunday?

I've seen that kid ride at Hindsight and almost hit the ceiling. He doesn't need huge jumps to fly.

I just got this email, thought I'd post it here for everyone who may not have received it.

Dear Riders,

It seems each time we get 1-2 days of "no rain", I get a few e-mails to see if the track will be open. I just wanted to send out a quick e-mail with a small update on the track.

IT IS UNDER WATER, and it will take 2-3 weeks of SUN and warm temps to dry it out enough to be suitable to ride on.

Moreover, I wanted to clarify a few things. I know some of you have heard rumors that the track has been forced to close down due to pressure from the county, and my neighbors. THIS IS TRUE. I have been receiving pressure from the county as my property is not zoned to "run a business". Right now I am in the middle of one legal battle that pertains to my property, (not track associated), and I am REALLY reconsidering if I should fight the county and neighbors, and take on all of the additional risk associated with having so many riders out at my property. I don't need any more issues with the law, and all it takes is one JACK-HOLE to hurt himself because he was an idiot, and then be sued again. I know 99.9% of you are not that way, but it only takes one!

Right now I have a handful of riders that have paid me in advance for the 2009 riding season, and I will honor and allow those riders to ride this year per our agreement.

I have not made up my mind yet as to what I am going to do for the "PUBLIC" this year, and I will make a decision some time in March. I have talked to several riders who have some very creative ideas to avoid all of the legal and county issues, and I am taking all of those into consideration.

I have enjoyed having riders out at my place to ride and have fun with their families. That is exactly what I wanted and hoped for when I built the track. It is a lot of fun, but it is also a LOT of work, which takes me away mentally and physically away from the job I have that provides for my family. I really hope you all understand my concerns and the position I am in right now. I will send out another e-mail in March with a full update.

Until then...... please pass this e-mail on to all of your riding buddies.

Best Regards,
Josh Merritt

That would be a sad day for us west side riders if he closes down. It is a very convenient practice spot.

PLEEEEAAAASE keep it open, I promise I won't sue

so I just heard abou this place tonight. I was all stoked cause I live in cedar mill which is 30 mins max to this place. Then I saw the email sayig it may not be open to the public and he would be giving an update in March. Any update yet? I need this place. I need to be able to zip over from work this summer and get some evening rides in. I usually take my 4 year old son with me, which I love, but it's hard to get a good hard ride in. So this place is crucial to my existance.
