If your asking about the cam its because cast cams are a little softer than billet and tend to wear better against the rockers, more similar to original cam material.



so youd have to use hardened rockers with a billet cam.

from what i understand, the 650L cam is milder.


What i meant was, could you drop a xr600 cam in a xr650l and vise a versa? in that case then you could run the megacycle cam with the auto decompression system.

I checked with Mega cycle and it seems particuler years will interchange between the two bikes and it will retain comp. release. You may want to call to verify weather or not you neeed to re hard face rockers.
