Hello everyone and greetings from Cape Town. I just got my XR600 last week, but alas, no owner's manual. I need the information on suspension setup that is aparently covered in the manual. I found that there is only 30PSI in the rear shock and believe it should be more in the 250PSI range? Does anyone possibly have a scan of the owner's manual, or even only of the relevant section. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Reydon

I only have the repair manual- I couldn't find what you are looking for, but maybe this will help you get it set up:

Adjusting preload setting on the rear suspension

Locking nut torque specification 90 N.m - 65 ft-lb
1988 to 1990

Spring length Standard 234 mm - Maximum 229 mm - Minimum 239 mm

After 1990

Spring length Standard 200 mm - Maximum 195 mm - Minimum 205 mm

250 psi is about what a rear shock N pressure should be at. Some riders run a little lower pressure, some a little higher. I filled my shock (1993) to 250 psi after replacing the fluid it and it works like it should.

Thanks for the info, guys. I would still love a copy of the XR600 owner's manual if anyone has it.

It would be much easier to just buy one for $16:

I have tried to buy this at helminc.com BUT at $125 for postage to SA and another $25 for handling - NO THANKS!!!

Anyone with a scan of the manual, pleeeease! I dont need a 1998 specific, any manual between 1991 and 2000 will do.
