05 WR450F Bottom End Power loss

Recommended Posts

Does the removal of the AIS decrease your bottom end power while increasing mid and top end?

I am running 13/50 for sprockets and want to get about 7 more miles per hour at the top end without losing what I have down low. I have not cut the grey wire or done the AIS mod. Its not quite jetted right either as it pops on decel.

Should I go 14/50 and not do the mods or do the mods and stay 13/50 to get a good cruise speed of 60mph? Right now its pretty buzzy at 60mph so I need just a bit more ooommph.

Just bought the bike and want to do things right. I know everyone says the AIS has to go but I LOVE the low end power it has right now.

Thanks for any advice.

Also, in addition to the thread...anyone tried the ThumperTalk AIS kit? What is the opinion on the best kit?

Thanks again!

IMO the TT kit is the best because it uses plugs instead of just capping the spigots. Cleaner IMO...

There is no use for the AIS on the bike besides the emission issues.. You say you want more top end, easy, yank the 13 and replace it with the stock 14...

good luck
