What year is it? I'll look in my manual tonight and see if it has any info. Thanks,

Here's what my manual says (it's a Clymer manual):

Cylinder head cover bolts:
6mm -- 8-12 Nm or 6-9
8mm -- 1985-87 20-26 Nm or 15-19
8mm -- 1988 on 23 Nm or 17
8mm -- All other models 26-30 Nm or 19-22

Cylinder Head bolts:
XR600R 1985-87 28-32 Nm or 20-23
XR600R 1988-on 36 Nm or 26
All other models 28-32 Nm or 20-23

Cylinder bolts:
47-53 Nm or 34-38

I hope that helps or at least gets you in the ballpark.

Here's valve clearance info in case you need that:

XR600R & XR600L:
Intake 0.10 mm (0.004 in.)
Exhaust 0.12 mm (0.005 in.)

All other models:
Intake 0.05 mm (0.002 in.)
Exhaust 0.10 mm (0.004 in.)

The manual is supposed to cover years 1979 thru 1997, so if yours isn't in that era the values may not be applicable.

Thanks again,
