Dubach or MRD????

Recommended Posts

I know this has been beaten to death, but which one??..MRD is $400-425 with

shipping, and the New Dubach in Titanium list for $779:eek: and in stainless is

$549:crazy: ,from what I can see in Pics,it seems that the Dubach is made

better, but the price is way out there,(you can buy a complete Titanium exhaust system [Force or Akro] for a $1000,and thats for 4 cylinder's!! I

would have bought the old version Dubach, but alas, there seems to be no

more ?.I know Greyracer(:applause: )just purchased,I think the older version in SS,and he seems pleased with quality and fitment(other then

filing out a hole),but price!:excuseme: for a single cylinder motorcycle!?

any suggestions?...P.S. for an "06" YZF450 THX ED:ride:

search around...I bought a new Dr.D on ebay for like $379. As for performance, the midrange to top end performance it significantly improved with this pipe although I was hoping for a bit more help on the bottom. It pulls strong through the gears now, much better than stock. :applause::excuseme:

Can't speak for the MRD.

Rickk,is that the old style Dr. D or the new one,and is that ss or Ti?? thx ed

It was before the newest model came out, but to be honest, they are gonna be just about the same performance wise. This said, if you can find one (and you should be able to), you should be able to get them for sub $400 or close to this price without a problem.

I think you'll find that 99% of the ppl on this forumk will give the pipe a 2 thumbs up, unless your critical like me that wants every pony I can get get from bolt on accessories. It was also the SS and it works and holds up fine. My opinion is very favorable of this pippe over stock now that I've tried them back and forth. If you are just buying a pipe as you're bored, I suggest riding and really understand your bike and decide if you really need some help or not.

I was debating this also myself, and in my case I went with the new style Dr. D. My reason- I just finished grad school and my dad bought the Dr. D complete system for me as a graduation gift. From what I've seen of the MRD it's a well built system and Dave is extremely helpful, I actually feel bad that he won't be getting my business. According to Dave at MRD, his low-mid pipe is almost identical in power to the Dr. D, so either way I don't think you can go wrong.

I have a MRD for my 07 and I can say that it's a well built system plus the performance is great. That low end bog is gone, nice and crisp now.

What where your jetting changes and at what altitude are you?? I get my MRD tuesday so I "NEED THE INFO" Throw me a bone here! Thanks, -JR:worthy:

The MRD system is stainless, so you have to compare apples to apples with pricing. $779 isn't all that bad for a full Ti system. Look at other Ti systems and you will find that they are all between 800 and 900 bucks.

Yeah,but $779 for a single exhaust in Ti seems to be a ripoff,like I said,you

can buy a full Ti system from Akro or Force (which are "Works of Art") for a

$1000,for most 4 cylinder Jap sportbikes(I purchased a Force recently),and

I can't see why they charge soooo much for a single pipe in Ti!..but anyhow

I'll shop around for the older version of Dr.D in Ti,but it doesn't seem available

anymore:cry: Thanks Guys for all your input about this:ride: ED

You probably can't go wrong with either pipe. I have the MRD, and I love it. It performs awsome, the throttle snaps like a 2 stroke with this pipe on, and the power never flattens out. I think it looks sweet, and it doesn't stick out like a donkeys _!ck, which is a defenate plus. Also for the price, you can't go wrong, on top of that the customer service is great, you will always talk to dave, and he will fix your pipe if you manage to bust it up.

Dave will also anadize the end cap for you, or you can choose to get the new style that he just released.

Ranger,nice bike,talked to Dave,he says he'll have to make pipe,none in stock,

price is the best around($400),includes shipping, can't beat that, but by the

time it takes to make and ship,it will be 2 weeks...I still might consider it.

That sounds good. He had to make my pipe as well. It was at my door step exactly 1 week later. But I do live an hour away from his factory, so I'm guessing that extra week is for UPS travel time to NY.

He made my pipe as well and it took about 10 days for it to show up in MD from the time I hung up the phone with Dave. I had my first chance to ride with it on this past Sunday. It was like a new bike, low end has come to life and the whole range feels stronger. There where times I felt my feet where going to start flailing behind me:eek: . I think I went one of those humps in my seat now!!!
