Hello all, I'm new to this site as I've been riding an 96 RM250 for a few years which I still do love. However, I have an opportunity that I just can't pass up. :excuseme:

I am looking at buying an 02 YZ 426 that runs very strong. However, the rear shock reminds me of my childhood riding a pogo-stick around the driveway. It's nearly impossible to ride right now due to this problem. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how have you fixed it? I'm going to call my local Yamaha dealer tomorrow(closed on Monday's) to see if this thing can be revalved, or what the best option is. I have looked online and the OEM replacement for the rear shock is 500-700 bucks which is crazy.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Eric :applause:

This shock is completely rebuildable. You can do it yourself (Buy OEM parts here at TT store), or send it to any good suspension wrench. They are also on ebay every week as whole units & seldom go for over $50-100, but it may be the same as what you already have.
