If your looking for similar, why can't you core your stock tip?

perfectly reasonable question and gets to the real point: that's what I have now. the previous owner did it, or bought it, or had someone do it, and I'm very curious if I could get back a little of the high end by using the HRC part. Dimensionally, the opening of the HRC is a little smaller, and I'm not sure about the basket dimensions, but also the HRC is barely within the legal noise limit.... which mine probably is not....

all suggestions welcome!

The HRC tip may be smaller in opening, but runs deeper past the baffle inside the muffler and is much louder. My cored tip is around 94-96 db's and I know people post the HRC tip as 96db's, but I think it's closer to 98. I'm using a radio shack Db meter, so I'm close at best. I feel it does have more top end over the cored tip and the bike seems to really wake up with it, but it's loud.

Hey guys, Check this page link out on a recent thread. Start at post #53.

Just to be sure the stock tip 'coring' you are talking about is inline with this. Anything less is not nearly the same as a HRC tip.

If your has in fact been done very similar, then try going back to a HRC tip if you want or need more top end power.

We are currently in the process of sound testing the tip/s, so stay tuned for the results.
