Got a 2000 YZ426 and I purchased a High Comp Piston and Ring Set to install in it.

My question is... the bike is now starting on the first or second kick with the choke on when cold and on the first kick when hot.

Should I go ahead and rebuild or just wait?

It runs great and I checked the valves last night and they are still in perfect spec.

Rebuild it. You'll thank me once you feel the difference with the high compression piston. :bonk:

Make sure to replace the cam chain while your at it. :naughty:

Is there really a noticeable difference? What about the 450 exhaust cam? I figured I have kicked the thing for 6+ years this way... why bother putting the auto decompression cam in now???

Yes, its a huge difference in bottom end to mid range snap. The 450 cam is a must have.

X2. The cam is a great mod. I waited too long to do mine. Don't let that happen to yuu. :bonk:
