I was trying to kickstart my 83 xr500, and it wouldnt, so I just went crazy:crazy: trying to kickstart it, and it would kinda start every 3 or 4 kicks, but then die. I did this until it wore me out, and then I discovered a pool of oil beneath me, and it was coming from the overflow tube where you put the oil in the frame. I thought this was very unusual, please help:worthy:

Sounds like your engine wet sumped and the frame got topped off and when you kicked it over it pumped all the oil from the cases back into the frame and caused it to overflow.Just drain it down and start over.
