clutch cable

On my 06 yz450f I put some asv f3 levers on. However though after attachiandng the clutch cable to the aftermarket clutch perch on the f3 levers the clutch did not seem to engage right. I adjusted the play in it to spec which was 3 to 5 mm and didnt have any clutch. So I took three washers and down at the bottom of the clutch cable wher it attaches to the engine through a molded piece that is made to the bottom cylender I put the three washers in between the end of the clutch cable and the molded piece attached to the cylender to make more pull on the clutch lever at the perch. The question is? Is this all right to do this or is there another way I can fix the problem.:applause:
