After taking apart the carb and putting it back together the fuel is leaking out from the over flow hose. ive already checked the float to make sure that it wasn't stuck in the up position. has anyone else come across this problem before or have any ideas?

If you take the needle seat out of the carb, you'll notice an o-ring on it. A lot of times that o-ring goes bad and lets gas flow by. Change the o-ring and you should be OK.
