Has anyone removed the screen from their air filter cage? I'm running a TI-4 exhaust and I just repacked it for the first time - I removed the spark arrestor and I'm thinking that this screen might give me a bit more hp... any ideas?

I don't think that is a good idea. It is intended to prevent a filter fire (rare, but possible) in the event of a carb backfire. The screen is a minimal restriction compared to the filter behind it.

Absolutely. Big bucks Super Moto crews have concluded after actual dyno testing that there is no advantage to removing the screen in a YZF. This would be simply because the screen offers less restriction to air flow than the filter itself.

Alright - that's the info I was looking for. I knew the risk of the backfire I just didn't know if there was any added horsepower...
