Fun Time!

Hehehee...

All the free mods are done and I dialed in a little more spring preload to better manage my 200lb (with all gear) riding weight...and yipee skippy:eek:

It's a giggle fest:ride: when I'm practically sitting on the gas tank to keep the front wheel down. I finally gave up and just let the front wheel fly.

Now I need to go for a real ride...get dirty...scare myself a few times...then whine because my arms are too tired to push the bike up into the truck after a day of riding.

It was a brief check out ride to see how the new jetting felt after finishing the rest of the free mods. I like the spring a little more supportive...but I'll need a day on the trails to get a good feel for it.

I'm very pleased with my decision to get a '07 WR450. This is my first Yamaha and I gotta say...I'm liking the blue. I rode (and raced) Honda's, Kawi's, and a Bultaco in my youth. I wish this WR was around when I was in my teens and early 20's...:censored:

Too fun!

Congrats on the new bike. I'm trying to work out a deal with a Charlotte dealer on a couple of bikes; one being a WR450. Dealer is pushing some leftover 06's at great prices (5300 OTD), but I'm trying to hold out for a 07.

Hi oneqikz06,

I have no experience with the '05 or '06 WR but I know Charlotte Yamaha has 2 of them at firesale pricing. From what I have seen in this forum, you would not be going wrong to snatch up one of them at a sweet deal. The extra shekels will serve you well with all the hop-up mods available.

I chose to hold out for an '07 because I wanted the latest technology...and I could afford the extra dollar. I had to push ALL the local dealerships to go after one for me. Nobody had one in stock and they all were skeptical about their ability to find one for me.

Interstate Cycles in Lake Norman found 2 of the '07 WR's and got them both in. One was for me...they may still have the other one. Give Jamie Pope a call and check it out. PM me for their telephone number...I'm not sure where in Virginia you are...the Lake Norman area is about 3.5 hours from Roanoke, VA.

One last thing...interesting log in name..."oneqikz06"...is that a reference to a Corvette Z06? If so then, Hello brother! I have an '02 EB Z06.:censored:
