If anyone still cares about something truly exotic.
I have reason to believe that my ride may actually be ready ship by end of this week.
This bike setup has been a bit of an ordeal as the forks came in from Ohlins and went back out to ProValve(fork & shock) and Scotts for valving/spring changes and a damper mount(custom) for the TM triple clamp.
These bikes come with Titanium exhausts and Giannelli silencers but NO spark arrestor! So that got sent to Promotobillet for a custom endcap setup adapted from a CR450F system they make.
According to the dealer who gets info from the distributor they dyno stock around 45HP. On par with a YZ426.
So February looks like some trips to Carnegie for breakin and then on to Stonyford for a maiden voyage. Sweet.
I'm a litle worried about carb tuning on the thing as it has a Mikuni downdraft RR carb on it.
If anyone is interested I believe that Off Road Group in Indiana(that's where I bought it) has a 250 in stock that is similar but has the Paioli's instead of the Ohlins forks.

I don't know. But I'm sure it's full price ($7500 maybe)although they might come down some to cover shipping out of state.

Give yourself a rest exotic boy ! Funny I didn't need to revalve or make any aftermarket purchases on my "Not as exotic a Chasejjs" Husabergs.

Now considering where you posted this, and who trolls this thread.... :D
Dont think anyone here (espcially here) would not consider TMs sweet rides and an exotic, but not sure if it is the only one that gets the monicker here of "Exotic" :D :D ...that on this forum...you will get the "DOC McCoy raised eyebrow" look....I promise....I own a husaberg...which, is up there in one off sweet rides...etc etc....now back to your Exotic.....

hmmmmmmmm

Confidence in the dealer shipping network is key! "EXOTIC"

No sweat...for a close to 8K machine, whats a little revalve and adjustment?"EXOTIC"

Very Sweet....and the no spark arrestor for a machine headed to the US...thats good....

Have to watch those one off Mikuni's.....?"EXOTIC"

Welll what do you expect on only one cup of coffee....
Been Looking at those TMs and they do look awesome....but now....hmmmmm...might stick to an "Non-Exotic" that doesnt require suspension revalve, exhaust work, carb/intake work...or there are spare parts? KTM, Husaberg, Husky..or a 'Dale?
Hey I am old and need breakfast....
Its all good! :D :D :D

Hey Guys! Don't kill my buzz. Didn't mean to offend anyone here. Just a little lame attempt at some levity and express my excitement at finally geting this beast.

Regarding the dig at my modifications. While I'm not thrilled with the lack of spark arrestor, my guess is that they will ship with those eventually. I know that ProCircuit is working on some solutions for them. I just got stuck, since it is the first one out here.
The suspension mods are necessary since you can't click and preload your way to a setup for a 260lb guy with a setup for 180 lbers. Cost of the bike is irrelevant.
BTW, Hawaiirider. I can respect everyone on this forum as anyone who rides a rare/unique/exotic bike enters into a bit of an unwritten contract to be both self sufficient and resourceful to keep it going regardless of distributor and dealer support. There is no Big Daddy dealer standing there to cover every little problem you may have.

Like I say...its all good.....and yes I read your post as trying to get a silly fun reaction and, honestly touting your new ride that you SHOULD be excited about.....hell I would be....in fact, just dreaming of a new bike and givin' em a saddle rub gets me all worked up and ready to burn gas!!! (no not pass it, just burn it )
WWOOOOOOOOOHHOOOOOOOOO :)
We werent disin ya man.....just fun punchin back....if you havent noticed but sure that you have.....you cant have thin skin on these BBS....and if you want to get someone fired up....
talk smack about someones ride that they have tweaked, modded, spent bucks on and etc etc etc....
its all good....and if you dont attend our TT exotic ride we are trying to put together, we will just figure you couldnt find any exotic air to put in the tires!
Think? :D

Its all good!
and you know, we expect a full ride review, and photos of the new scoot!....just be warned!...in fact....you must!

Chasejj, don't worry about what the others say. Just from the number of posts from the other bikes out there I would have to say your bike is getting more exotic everyday while their's are just becoming run of the mill. And I would say from your last post that all of your mods are 100% in line. If I am not mistaken the Cannondale is just now coming out with a spark arrestor.
As for Hawaii-Rider, I have been following this forum for quite awhile now and I would have to say your name has come up on the screen more than anyone else's and I have yet to read about a ride you have been on. The only thing I can gather is you can't wait to test ride one. Remeber to leave your thin skin at home when you read this! And next time think before you decide to slam someone. We are all here for a good time and to share info.

how did it take so long for someone to figure me out....only for you to catch me and call me on it so quick....simply amazing.....

been caught....will go troll another BBS....maybe a Military one....
I think I can fake that for a while! ! ! Think? Havent done that either....

A few years ago, TM used to ship the bike to you already setup for your weight, riding ability, and terrain. Maybe they are not exotic enough anymore :)

Chasejj - I am interested in a ride report from you on your "2002 TM400" It is rare that we ever see any real bike review on TM's. I do consider TM & GasGas exotic's as I do with the mentioned bikes on this bulletin board. So do me a favor & post a review of your bike. Even some of us jap bike owners ae interested.........if possible post a picture of the beast. thanks

The TM sounds sweet. I'd really like to see some photos of the bike. I was unable to find any on the internet. Anyone know where these bikes may be viewable? Enjoy it!! :)

Pete, that bike sucked! I think a box-van turns sharper. Some nice stuff, but just to weird to ride.
