huge difference in:
power,weight, handling,cooling,ergonomics......basically its a completely different bike......one is a race bike ® the other is a dual purpose bike(L)
nothing is the same ...maybe the rims?????

The 650R is waaay in every respect except for the E-start. If you don't like liquid cooling, there's another plus for the 650L.

The R is no longer sold in Canada.
Get them while you can - and look after them.
That being said, I'm sticking with my L.

In short...

The “R” comes standard with a full auto .50cal anti aircraft gun and hell-fire rocket pod…..while the “L” is equip with an inferior Browning water-cooled .308…no rocket pod either.

i don't think i got that option on mine..

and as for the vs.. if you can get a r i don't see why you wouldn't. only thing that l has is a stupid button.. who cares i would rather have way less weight and way more power, with better ergonomics anyday.

The L is street legal everywhere.:ride:
The R needs to be converted IF your state allows it.:applause:
L is air cooled.:ride:
R makes more power. Power is good.:ride:

The R has a larger appetite for tires and fuel.
