I know I've seen comments buried in other threads but I was wondering what would be a good starting point considering positive comments on the stock set up. Or would you recommend a re-valve? If so, front and rear?

I'm 170 lbs without gear. Intermediate rider.

Thanks for your help....

You should try it as is. The OEM suspension is among the best as is.

If you find it harsh, try removing 5cc at a time from the outer chamber of the fork. If that hasn't done it for you by the time you've dropped 20cc a side, consider lowering the spring rate a step. I would doubt revalving would be needed.

Read the setup guide linked in the post above, too.

My 06 was revalved / resprung and works great but I dont use the bottom 1 1/2 of suspension . Do you think I should start at removing 5 cc of oil or should start with 10 cc ?

You could try 5cc (MXA thought 10 would do it for them, but they were surprised at the effect it had, and ended up adding 5cc back)

Are your new springs stiffer or soifter than stock?
