i didnt even have to see this thread to want to do that? if everything works out with me and my finace this weekend my 03 450 motard will have an all new look by summer. lol

actually i might wait till summer since i want to go thru the motor anyways come summer but prob. not

bike looks great man the old school graphics are the nicest out there IMHO

More or less did the same on my '99 400 ( 420 )

Grey metal flake powder coat, black Clarke tank, but still running the

classic blue set-up.

This way when I'm ready I can go white / yellow as I choose in no time.

Looks real classy as is though, will post up some pics eventually,

apart right now.

I think it's a great way to have a new bike feel without spending the dough.

Plus you do all the maintenace in one shot as well.

And ditto on the frame cleaning, I did all the precautions + pressure washed the inside for about an hour HaHa!!

Cant you thread something into the frame hole so nothing gets into the oil reservoir?

I thought of the same thing, but according to the shop that did my frame, if you use a screw in plug the powdercoat will be too thick and basically fuse the plug to the frame when it gets baked. You could certainly do this during the sandblasting though and keep most of that out of there. When they did mine, they used some neoprene plugs wedged into the hole. After baking they pull right out (like a wine bottle cork).
