My bike is at the local dealer as we speak. I've over 25 hours on it already, I've been riding it all holidays. Fark!! Compression is well down and I'm having trouble starting it, even with the kick starter. Mechanic there said outlook is not good and he's not sure if yamaha are going to come to the party and assist with the costs.

wow thats not good ,it is a pretty big hole,i could see a lot of stuff could go thought there,i sealed mine with some JB weld.before that i luckly had only ridin in the snow and wet sloff. maybe its just the valves??

Sand blasted motors can occur very quickly. Yamaha owes all those new owners of 2007 WR450s with the wrong filters a full dealer inspection and repair of any damaged top ends! This not the first time Yamaha has done this to us loyal blue blooded riders. The 03 had a major design flaw with the e-starter drive gears. We all got the royal shaft to the tune of $260.00 except for a lucky few that had 2 failures in the first 30 days. This could be very costly for some:banghead:?

My bike is in the shop right now. I will talk to the owner and see if it can be fixed I have over 300 miles on my new bike, sticky starter I must hold down kicker to let hydrolics leak down, I know compression is probably off. Lets hope they do what is right. I will know more come monday.
