When replacing the bushings and seals in my forks today ('83 XL600R) I noticed the one had a tight spot when inserting the tube. Its about half way down the slider. The old lower bushing was shot and had one spot where it was wore more than the rest. I'm assuming someone must have crushed this in a vise or something. Is there anyway to fix this...or do I need to find another slider?

Sounds like a chance to upgrade those forks to post-1991 XR600 forks. I'm sure there are some people on the forum who have forks sitting around that they've upgraded.

I thought about upgrading to newer forks, but I don't want to sink anymore money in this "pig" than I need too.

I don't see how there is anyway to fix this leg, so I guess I need to look for a good used one.

Anybody have one collecting dust they want to part with? It's for the left side.

If you can't find any here, keep an eye on ebay and you should be able to find a set for not to much $$$. To search go to ebay motors and type in this search

(xr60*,xr 60*) for*

That should give you every fork on there.

Thanks....just won a set of forks for $25 shipped! Hopefully the left fork is better than the one I have.
