I have been up in my riding area the last two saturdays cleaning trails, mainly cutting large trees that have fallen during the wind storms. And with these trees comes a mess of limbs that need thrown out of the trail. So if ya all are not riding do to the crappy weather, now is a good time to grab a saw and go through your trails and get them cleaned up. And it is a good idea to let your local forrest service know what you want to do. I have been given permission from my local FS and record my time for working on trails. That way if someone of authority comes along wanting to know what I am doing I'm covered. Still have a long way to go in the area I ride, but at least when the weather gets better and I go for a rip, I wont have to be dodging trees all day.

You guys are lucky. All of our trails are under 4-10 feet of snow. I just got a new MS180C trail saw for Christmas and will put it to work when the snow starts melting off in April. Last year was the worst trail clearing year on record in NE WA. I expect that the windstorms have again laid down piles of trees and will demand maximum user efforts to clear the trails by Memorial Day.

I spent New Years Day with some fellow TT'ers clearing trails-good fun, and got some trash cleared, too!

Seems like everyone that was out that day had at least a folding saw onboard.

I have to clear my driveway before I can go clear trails...these storms have been too much (I live in the Snoqualmie Valley) between the flood, rains, wind, snow, etc....just waiting for the locusts...Rieter has got to be looking a bit ragged.

I was bummed about the ice and snow keeping me from riding on Monday. Then I saw this thread and only then did I realize I could have just drove to the trails and walked them with my little echo trail saw :bonk: :bonk: Oh well, next weekend.

I was up there in the ice and snow today riding and clearing trails. It snowed all day but I was able to clear a few trails. Mainly trails just above the upper parking lot. 200 or so lag screws in my tires helped to keep me going.

You are the man! I cleared maybe three miles of trail and part of the entry road weekend before last but that is nothing compared to everyting you have been doing. I'm planning to get up ther this weekend to do some more...

The Next work party for the jones Creek Trail Riders will be 3 Feb at 0900 hours at the JC staging area. Plenty of picture from past work parties are in the gallery: http://jonescreektra...odules/gallery/ I would like to get as many people out as possible for this work party, bring your bikes. I would like to get a crew or two to ride the loops for a trail check.
