Ok , first things first , I complained about the wr450s power , first I did the throttle stop and the gray wire ,, it improved the power ,, almost doubled , then removed the baffle , and I was very happy with the bike ,, faster in the woods then with my rmz450 was able to handle it great , now I jetted the carb , fuel screw , and put the the pro moto billet exhust pipe in and now the bike is like my rmz and I can't control it , and turning it in the woods is impossible , the front end feels so light and , I back to fighting the bike ,, so my question is ,, anything I can do to get the front end to grab again, I mean after the rest of you guys did the mods did you have this problem ,, I was told to go an extra tooth on the front sprocket .

I was thinking putting the stock exhaust pipe back in , with out the baffle .

From stock settings I went 2 more clicks on both rebond and compression, before I jetted it and did the exhaust , then after I went just one more on each and it didn't help,, should I go back on one or the other?.

To all new bees ,, the bike rips after doing the mods ,, and with my skill its just to much.

I just rode my 2007 wr450 for the first time bone stock and don't see any reason to do anything but maybe the throttle stop.It put the power to the ground so good when my buddie was spinning in the snow I was going through easily, hardly no wheelspin. My previous bike was a 2002 yz250 .

Are you new at riding a motorcycle? When making changes in power, it seems like a big change at first but after you go for a couple spins, you get used to any extra power and then it seems normal.

Well everything was fine before with turning and tracktion before I jetted it and changed the exhaust pipe,,and with the added power its now uncontrolable,, what changes with the power increase.

The speed at which you are trying to turn, or in other words, the amount of gas you are now giving. Try turning the bike a little slower, you probably dont even notice that you are now trying to turn faster.

As a great man once said (hp is not everything)

As you have just found out. To much HP can get you into trouble. Try and be a little smoother on the throttle till you get used to it. 50% of guy's are faster on 250 4/st than they are on 450's. And I'm one of them.

It seams like the engine breaking is more intence now ,, let off and it dives , give it gas and it lightens the front end , next time I go out I will try backing off the throttle just a bit as I enter the turn,, how about the suspension ,, any sugestions ,, compression and rebound.

I found that going 1 tooth bigger on the front sprocket has made my WR a much more enjoyable ride. It still has PLENTY of low end hit (for me) but has helped me carry more speed in a higher gear, if that makes sense. What used to be a 1st gear turn at high revs is now a 2nd gear turn at medium revs. The bike is much easier for me to get turned without fear of whacking it and looping the bike or having the front get too light on me. It also has the benefit of being able to run on the streets at a more acceptable rev range.

All i did to mine to keep it from wheeling too much ,was move the bars forward to the 1 mark.(Stock pro tapers),and set the sag,the thing tracks like a snake, werever im pionting it its going.the front is so stabile im not even thinking about putting my dampner on,love it as,? is in the rockest of stuff.

I haven't tried a larger front sprocket, but I did start riding a gear higher than I used to and it made a HUGE difference. The suspension unloads and soaks up the corners and bumps instead of bouncing and banging off of everything.

Smooth throttle + 1 gear higher = BIG difference

So I have been told buy some ridding buddies and a couple of you guys ,, just go out and try to used to the power , If it not to cold out this weekend I'll give it a try and if it doesn't work , dropping the front forks and changing the front sproket will be my next move.
