YZ to 99 WR400 tank interchange?

Hey guy's, can anyone tell me what it will take to get a 98-02 YZ tank to fit on my 99WR 400? Do I have to have the YZ seat and shrouds to make it all work? thanks!

You will need the 98-02 YZ seat, but will have to stick to the 98-99 WR/YZ shrouds. The angle of the shroud lower bolt attachment point changed on the later model YZ/WRs.

SXP said it. I have mine converted and all it took was the tank and new seat thats it. I swithced from a 4 gallon wr desert tank to the stock YZ tank and the bike feels like its 50 pounds lighter in technical riding areas. It corners a lot better too. I recommend doing this. I keep the desert tank for long baja rides and put the YZ tank on for day rides. Its so much easier to throw the bike around with the smaller tank.

No it wont, I have a 400 and had a yz125 and the parts were all different.

Know that 400-426 YZ tanks from 98-02 are interchangable with WR models same years, but has anyone tried the YZ250F tank on a WR.

Particularly YZ 250F '01 on a WR400 '99.

Actual part number is diffrent, but visually they are quite alike.
