Please support Washington State Senate bill SB5215.

This piece of legislation would extend the landowner liability protection that we won for public ORV parks last year to private landowners, including those that charge a fee, so long as the revenue from the fee goes totally into land management costs.

Now is a good time to tell your State Senator to vote YES on SB5215!

Thanks for the heads up.... The following was just sent to my Senetor (Mike Carrol) 28th District.

Please vote "YES" on SB5215.....
This piece of legislation would extend the landowner liability protection that we won for public ORV parks last year to private landowners, including those that charge a fee, so long as the revenue from the fee goes totally into land management costs. Too little [usable] public land is available to ORV users which puts the burden on private land owners. This bill will help to ensure ORV users have adequate land use rights to enjoy their sport.

[tod701] - The title on this thread references the wrong SB#....!
You have it listed in the title as "5212", but it should be "5215".

5212 reads: SB 5212 - 2007-08
Regarding interim pay for certificated educational employees during probable cause hearings regarding contract status.

So folks, make sure *when* you write to your Senator to make reference to SB#5215 - "Modifying provisions with regard to recreational activities on certain lands."

I'll write, I always do! Why don't you put this out in the "general" section and get people from all over to write and let our legislators know how this would affect their vacation plans. Knowing they had places to ride would greatly increase the tourism in this state. Becoming ORV friendly would be a big plus for Washington. Thanks for keeping up with legislation and letting us know.

Excellent. Well, I know my state senator and 2 state represenatives will support it (20th district), but I'm going to let them know I expect them to sign on to it!
