I believe that a WR250 could do 80mph+ but, the time it takes to get from 60mph to 80 mph would be a long time in perspective to other bikes.

Bottom line can not be argued is horsepower + weight to speed. I have ridden more then enough wr250's, banshees and any other bike to know the point hill5150 is making. the wr250 is not anywhere in the mix of things here. A banshee will stomp it at any speed if greared for that speed. You guys that are laughing at the banshee like it's nothing, have no clue. Most of the time they rule the drags. They didn't last time I went with my 680cc bike, had a few running alcohol that I though where going to take me. They could get me off the line but once I hit third it was over. Second gear starts, ten paddle. There was one running nitromethane and it hung on longer but, it was the CR500R of Nitrous that gave me the run for the money. The nitromethane banshee couldn't race day two. I think it came apart. The WR250 going 88mph down hill geared right is possible but, without a GPS it is just a story:eek:

Just show you don't know about speedo's, that thing isn't even close to right. Even my ST1300 isn't close to right.

I only rode a pure stock 88 banshee one when i was 16 and it did rip. My info here is from the yamaha atv fourm. A piped banshee has close to 50hp and weights about 400pds. Just guessing your HRC bike has 50-55hp and weighs about 310pds. The power to weight on xr=5.63pds per hp. The banshee has about 8pds per horswpower. Not to mention the xr will have more tourqe. With equal riders, you would woop him pretty baddly. Also it could depend on how much both riders weigh and what terrain. Keep us updated PLEASE!!!

Hi all again, sorry for the late reply...

Im still waiting on some parts to arrive, the XR'S Only System and headers. I spoke to the guy a few days back and he seems pretty confident he was gona take me. He claims to have beaten CR500s with his Banshee.. I just stood there just taking his words, I didnt want say i could take him also just incase i get beat, but i told him that the race will have to be a quarter mile race.. Rolling Start or 0 His choice.. I just bought 2 gallons of 120 Octane fuel to get max horse power out of the HRC Kit.. I need about a week from now till i get the HRC kit fitted in and the exaust, The Parts will arrive in 3 days i estimate, ill keep you guys updated with photo's.

The difference you have going here is your banshee number is a dyno (rear wheel horsepower) horsepower. You XR650R number is engine number (braking horsepower) huge difference. To make them even both using rear wheel horsepower it would be 44rwhp stock/uncorked, 48rwhp for a mod'ed XR650R and the Banshee is around 50rwhp. The banshee ported/polished, V-Force reads, pipe, carb and you are looking at a 60rwhp banshee.

I had the Chen Chin 10 paddle and there 8 paddle, The Chen Chin 10 paddle is to big and to heavy, the 8 paddle rev's to fast for me. I now run the AMS 120/100 Sand Snake 10 paddle and love it.

My friend had a modded banshee with pipes, carbs, an lots of head work.
He got clocked trying to out run the poo poo at 98 mph. I think with different gearing it might go a little faster.
Whats the top speed of a 650r?

Depends on gearing; ~100mph with stock gearing and tires.

I think the pig will win if you can get it to hook an keep the front wheel on the ground.

I see some progress!

Sweet pipes! I love the way stainless headers will get that nice burnished look after one good ride.

Good luck on whupping that poor ole Banshee. Be kind to him afterwards. Sorta.

And ride safe.

I remember seeing something on the cover of a ATV mag not long ago of a 12second 1/4 mile banshee thats 110mph. I would want this race on dirt if it were me,the banshee could hook up better on asphalt.

I know by most measures most of us are just plain crazy mofos. I can certainly speak for myself anyway. I've done 135 on a bike while wearing shorts and sneakers (and helmet). I've done 155 in a Beamer on the Autobahn, for many, many miles, many many times.

But the thought of taking an ATV to 110 (or beyond) scares the crap out of me. Maybe I just haven't been on a modern ATV, maybe I'm just a whiney-baby.

I know lots a you guys have atv's and maybe you don't think twice about high-speed runs. I'd do 110 on my BRP (yes, she will) and hardly think twice, except to thank my lucky stars for no citation this time.

Do 110 on an ATV? Nuh-uh, not this child.
