Here we go again. Time to cheer on our WR450 riders! The Dakar starts this weekend!

David Fretigne leads the Yamaha attack again for 2007! Nearly 60 highly modified Yamaha WR450's will try and finish this grueling 15 day endurance race!

Dakars my favorite all time race. About time blue steps it up and goes for the big one. Where do I sign up for the waiting list for this beast. Now if they would just start supporting the Baja 500 and 1000 more with pit support and logistics, we would tear the red team up!!!!! That things crazy looking. Honda, KTM beware theres a new sheriff in town.

Is there anything "Yamaha" left on this bike. I can't see it if there is.

Corrected the last picture. Blue KTM's can fool you sometimes. Here is David Fretigne's riding the Yamaha WR450

Note that the KTMs are 660 engine sizes and the WRs usually do well in the lighter class. David Fretigne has one in the 450 class size in years past. Hard to beat the hp of the big KTM in the desert.

The Dakar WR450s are just under 400. lbs with full fuel tanks. The KTMs 660's are 30 lbs heavier!

Great shots Rosta! The details of the mods in those pics is amazing! Oil & coolant tanks and built into the skid plate are so cool!
