did honda ever make the xr600 without a decompressor???

Nope, cause not many could kick it over!!!! and would break your leg or throw you off if it kicked back.

The White Bros cam I put in my '86 years ago, specified to disable the automatic decompression linkage. Since it didn't have the manual one either, it was a good boot to get going, but the thing always started if you knew how to do it. Kept friends from riding it, too....."Can I take your bike for a ride?" Sure, if you can start it, you can ride it. Never had one ask twice...
