2007 XR650L what do you think

Recommended Posts

I got mine in october for $5400. 'Course, add all the tax, title, license, state reg. etc, $6142 out the door. If the shipping won't be much, probably decent deal. Otherwise, check with your local dealer. When I drooled and peed a little on mine, he dropped the price...

The funky color of the seat, I think, is due to the texture of the vinyl, the light source, and most guilty: a bad or poor quality imager in the digicam.

Check this pic from my garage: https://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/garage.php?do=viewattachment&attachmentid=21436

Its from a Sony DSC-P9 4 Mpixel. Takes OK pics, but far from true-to-life.

It's a great bike for being unchanged for over the last decade. Tech wise, it dates back to the eighties. For the money, one should look at a DRZ400S. You would get a lighter bike with more modern equipment and more power. Honda has been milking this XR650L for way too long. The biggest motorcycle manufacturer should be ashamed for not providing the public with a more modern dualsport.

I agree, and really, realllly wish Honda would create a state-of-the-art DS bike(modern, light weight, low-maintenance, great power:weight, etc.), or even a DS line (like a 125/200, 400, and a 600/700). But as it stands, the L is still a good mount, and Honda will continue to make what sells.

Also, look at the market "competition" it has...the DS650 and the KLR650? _Any_ improvement to the L would smoke that market segment.
