Where is the best place to stash a couple wrenchs, etc on a new xr ?  I'm thinking about getting an old xr650 tool bag that were mounted on rear fender, if the dealer can still get them. I cant believe there isnt a good place on it!
Thanks Rick in Oregon

As a short fat guy, I have enough trouble getting my leg over as it is, so the rear fender was out for me.  I use a Moose front fender tube bag for my tools/spares. It will hols a front tube, irons, Co2, and the ktm tool kit with my 520.

Check out Moose Racing's Fender Bag for the rear fender, which is probably cheaper than the stock Honda bag.  It holds a bunch of stuff.

The Moose fender bags are nice IF you can get them strapped down secure enough to the fender. The MSR fender tool pack has a plastic base so you can mount it to the rear fender at the point where the fender attaches to the subframe just forward of the tail light. If it's just a few tools you're wanting to carry, put them in a fanny pack. I carry quite a few tools so I have a rack.

I have the moose bag on my XR6 and it works great.  I have had no problems getting it to mount up tightly and it is much more durable than stock.  Go for it!
