If anyone's interested I have a new and unused Hotcams DRZ125/DR200 cam for sale.
I bought this to put it to my girlfriend's DR but I'm thinking that might be bit of a waste. So the cam goes for sale.

I ended up just buying a brand new Hotcam stage one on ebay last year. 118$ shipped

Better than stock & the 100$ came to me free. I put new Michelin tires on, went down to 51 t on the back sprocket, and got a Renthal R1 works chain. Runs like a new bike

I may still get the webcam

DRZ125 Hotcams Stage 1: Will this go into my 1982 DR 125? Census says yes, but I can only afford to do this once  So I want it to be for sure.

Ah, I just finished my operation and can confirm: A Wiseco piston 11:1 CR STD bore with a Stage 2 Hot Cams made for the DRZ125 works perfectly in my 1982 GN125 (DR125)

However, for those who own and ride GS125 - This model has bigger valves, precisely 1 mm larger in diameter on both intake and exhaust than the DR125, SP125 and GN125. So, as to whether or not those would work I can't say.

WOW!  What a lot of info...I think my brain seized!  My question to you all is, my 13 yr old son has a 2004 klx125L and does flat track racing sometimes but mostly just goofs around on it playing with his brother in the woods.  He doesn't want to move to another bike.  We have bolted on kx100 suspension and tuned the carb to an aftermarket pipe (and this minute I dont recall the type) and now he wants more power.....a big bore kit.  But after reading this thread it seems costly and fairly time consuming.  Would more hp require a better swingarm?  Will the bigger motor be more than he thinks (ex...instead of going to a kx100 or a crf 150R)?  It just seems like too much work when I could just sell one bike and get another, but I am very open to suggestions and thoughts, ideas, etc.

Silly question but I needed to ask.

Thanks
Mark

hi mate from what i have taken in from here the best cheapist mods id say are a 213 grind cam 143 kit exhaust of your taste and probably a bigger carb
alot of people run the standard swing arm with this setup the conversion is not needed......but most want it :)

Great thread! i have an 07 Drz125L and would like to get some more power also. Was wondering if there was anyplace to buy the crower cam that Zombywoof mentioned in the first post? Or if anyone could find a cam with 220's duration with .350's or so lift? i mostly use the bike for riding in gravel pits and jumping ditches. Also i weigh 130lbs and cannot at the moment make the bike wheely withouth dropping the clutch. Plan on getting a pipe and modifying the intake box and removing snorkel and will see if that helps.
