Good place to buy a regulator/rectifier?

Recommended Posts

I've got 100+ volts going to my headlight. Can anyone suggest where to buy a new regulator/rectifier? I found one at Trailtech I'm not sure it is for a 450 WR and the shipping is $28.41. A little steep in my opinion.

I have the same problem ..... guessing it's the voltage rectifier/regulator, got one on order at TT OEM (not the quickest way btw) (which is different than the TT Store) . Asking around, I wanted to know if it was safe to ride it like that ..... as I didn't want to fry the rest of the electrical system ..... but I do have 14.5 v dc charging the battery and no more so ....... anyway, guess I'm gonna chance it tomorrow and ride the thing tomorrow and see what happens ...... wish me luck!

update: didn't ruin the rest of the electrical system, but did ride with the light switch off.

UPS delivered the part, I installed it, then ran the bike on the street to test all the lights.

Everything is now working except for the LED licence plate light that blew earlier

so I have to build up another one soon ......

Have you ever even considered a "dealer":excuseme: Just thinking out loud. I see people running all over the place looking for certain items and not once, considering a dealer where you know you can get it.

Yup, called the dealer first .... and nope, they didn't have it ......

(not only did they not have it, not a shop within my state had it!)

said they could order it though ...... just like I can .......

I'd have to drive 90 miles round trip to pick it up if the dealer ordered it or

it could come directly to my front door if I ordered it.

so, what was your point again? .......

sure, I'd like to support my local dealer,

but I'm not ready to buy an over priced new bike yet ......

(which seems to be the only things on their minds ...)

and when I do I'd might do it right here at the TT store!

TT supplies service in ways the local dealer should at least try ......

For one, they have this great set of forums!

I'd say that's worth something to me, and keeps me coming back .....

I'd never been able to get the bike i did , do all the mods to it,

and keep it running like i did without tt.

I guess your dealer treats you this good or better?

just my 2 cents .....

Wow, I think you have gotten of course. We were speaking of locating a regulator/rectifier and the thread was highjacked or converted into a dealer bashing. I get 25% off OE parts and its all at my door in under 5 working, a few more if it needs to be speical ordered. But my dealer caters to racers and he has huge inventory. Maybe find a new source. Many dealers sell online and ship right to your door. I wasnt reffereing to your local storefront where you could walk in, but was trying to point out OE parts, regardless of where you get them. Sounds like you might just need to find a different online dealer. Because of my days off (Sunday/Monday) going to a dealer is tough for me, most shops are closed these days, so I almost shop exclusivly online.?
