06 WR fork springs

Anyone running the stock fork springs in the 235lb range? I changed out the rear to a 6.0 to get the right sag but the front feels pretty good. I haven't had a chance to take it to the woods yet, just been riding around in the pasture, so that may change when I start hitting the trail trash.

I put the stiffer springs in. To be honest it seems to be too stiff. I am about 225. What do you have the clickers set to?

The clickers are still at the stock settings. I just picked the bike up Saturday so I haven't had time to mess with it. The bike feels pretty balanced with the 6.0 in the rear and the .46's up front. When I stand up on the pegs and bounce the bike the front and rear squat about the same.

I weigh 250 and the stock springs we light IMO.I replaced them with.48 and added some preload.IMO the stock forks ride a little low in the stroke.If you can get them to ride higher they feel better and make the bike feel more responsive and lighter and easier to steer.I thought stock the steering felt "heavy".Just my 2 cents worth. I'm pretty pleased with mine since I've done this and added air cells.They soak up small stuff and take big hits pretty good.

Where can I find front springs for an '06? I've looked at MX-Tech, RaceTech, Cannon Racecraft but they only go to '04. Will the '04 springs work or has Yamaha changed forks since then?

I'm at 235 with the stock springs and stock clicker settings so far.

In the woods / trails they've been ok, but I ride on mx tracks alot too and they bottom horribly on any jump that gets me more than a few feet in the air.

I just got 0.48 fork springs and a 5.8 shock spring from MX-Tech, but haven't installed them yet.

MX-tech had no problem with springs for the '06 WR. Their calculator at http://www.mx-tech.com/?id=spring_generator goes up to '06.

I weigh about 210. I recently put in .48 fork springs and a 5.6 rear spring. It made a big difference.

The bike rides higher in the stroke and the front wheel does not tuck under rocks any more. This is what was happening to me a lot with the stock fork springs. Also, my front end feels more planted and stable in turns (not that I am all that fast anyways)

When you start riding faster, you'll want a stiffer front end to obsorb the impact and to bounce you over obstacles.

Your front sag will definitely be off and your bike will feel heavy in the turns. Get the springs for the front. They are only $100 and will take less than an hour to install.

You would be better off going to heavier springs and lighter valving. I put on springs with lighter/less oil (5wt). The forks ride higher in the stroke and are way more plush. It was a night and day difference for me.

CANNON RACECRAFT has them for the 06 wr450...P# 43461 up to .50. Look at there application chart at the bottom of the home page.
