your front brake lever, pivot bolt and or master cylinder?

On my '03 I found that the lever had worn the pivot bolt and was actually wearing a groove in the master cylinder (around the pivot bolt under where the lever moves.) I've had bikes for a quite a few years and I've never seen anything like this before. I started looking closer when i noticed my front brake worked better sometimes than others. I put a new pivot bolt and lever on the bike but it wasn't till I filled the groove with JBWeld that the brake worked like it should.
