Ok, don't ask me how...but I smashed my ignition box on a tree trunk! So I am buying a new ignition and bracket. Are there aftermarket ones that are better than stock? Would they require rejetting?

I ride 75% MX and 25% Woods and the engine/exhaust are stock.

Thanks
gerald

not to thread jack, but a bump for your thread.... i was wondering the same thing. was thinking the 06 might benefit from a lighter flywheel and an ignition change to hit as hard as say an 03. i ride supermoto, my 03 was a hardhitting, strong pulling SOB. my 06 is smooth and fast but it doesnt seem to be as fast or pull and rev hard like the 03. both bike were completely stock no pipes. just looking for alittle more i guess. ski

Here is a more common aftermarket CDI box, it's made by vortex. I know that you can control the ignition mapping to suit your likings. It also nice to change the ignition mapping based on the type of terrain you ride (ei. sand, hard pack.....)

You might be able to find them on fleabay once in a while. Hope this helps:thumbsup:

It's an illusion. My '03 feels much stronger, but my '06 actually is faster head to head.

Just buy a Vortex.

Here's a couple posts about it so I don't have to type it all over again. (My posts are usually too long so I'm trying to cut down on my word count. )

This is the place to buy them (Mike is THE Vortex guy, he's very smart and nice too)...

Hey Gray, I just spent my WHOLE weekend in an '07 smog update class so I can renew my license.

If you still have your smog license you'll feel my pain, if you don't be very very happy that you don't have to jump through these hoops anymore!

At least the riding conditions around here this weekend suck so I'm not missing much. It would have been a nice day for a bicycle ride though. Anything would have been better than sitting in a classroom all weekend.
