I finally got the bike out on the trail, the trails were pretty wet so the sumo fender didn't last long before I put the normal one on.

My 2009 YZ450F...got it a little over a week ago. Real low hours and super clean! Always been a Honda guy, but this bike screams and handles so much better than the CRF i came off of...ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1400953732.718722.jpg ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1400953743.783428.jpg ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1400953771.456189.jpg ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1400953784.721884.jpg ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1400953796.022738.jpg

This is my excellent running 2006 yz450f, my first 4 stroke bike and my first ever engine rebuild. I bought the bike late October 2013 and put it together in my basement over the winter in my spare time. I just finished it May 15th 2014 and really learned a lot! Dented the megabomb already :D "Polisport" plastics, "All Motor" graphics kit,"FX" TC4 seat cover, "MSR" lever guards, "Moose" lift straps, "Cycra" skid plate "Maxxis" IT-Desert tires, "GYTR" 9.2oz weighted flywheel, "FMF" Factory Ti exhaust with "FMF" Megabomb head pipe, "FMF" power-up jet kit, "Tusk" fuel screw, "All Balls" steering stem bearings, swing arm bearings, shock pivot bearings, wheel bearings and chain rollers, "Acerbis" chain guide block and "Polisport" slider. Completely rebuilt engine top and bottom using all new oem Yamaha parts throughout.

How it has been sitting for awhile because I crashed it and broke bones:

so, does that mean 4th is required?

Picked up this Low hour (so the owner said) 08 YZ450... It was practically brand new.. a left over dealer model... I could not find anything wrong with it, it still had the stock tires, chain etc... $3300.... I could not pass this up as I was in the hunt to get back to 4 stroke racing.. I raced 4 strokes in the early 2000's... then switched to orange 2 smoke... loved it...just missed the low end grunt of 4 strokes.

have bought off road equipment to convert and had the suspension set up for woods.. have about 4 hours on it and LOVE it,  thanks for the posts on what to watch for..

Picked up a low hour 2009 YZ450F. Installed new tires/tubes, chain/sprockets, got the suspension serviced with new oil and seals, laced up a new rear wheel (stock was dented on 1side), greased all bearings and linkages, checked valve clearances, cleaned carb, did the o-ring mod but used safety wire instead, new grips and levers, new clutch cable (did not help clutch pull and was a waste of $), soaked clutch plates in oil for 2 days and reinstalled, changed coolant and flushed brake fluid, and I scrubbed on all aluminum surfaces till my hands were sore! Literally every bolt and nut was removed except for removing the engine. I really like the end result and can't wait to get it out and ride. Paid $3000 and now I have $3900 in it. New bike for 1/2 price.image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Just did some work on it. New tires, sprockets, air filter, need to find a way to break my chain to fit and do an oil change then its ready to race. Oh and I need a race number hmmm maybe 556 idk.

Artrax SX1 tire combo, vortex sprocket, did standard chain (heard it stretches easy, ugh)
