Ciao from Italy

I'm also interested in the weight difference between the stock front end and the CRF450 setup. 8.8lbs? Hmmm...

Ciao jesusgatos, the total weight of the stock front end is 54.447 lbs (the fork 22.345 lbs), the total weight of the special front end is 45.517 lbs (the fork, only CRF component, is 19.426 lbs).

At the end, the difference of the total weight is 8.93 lbs.

The difference between XR/CRF component (only the fork) is 2.919 lbs.

Piero, I had to go six pages deep to find your thread :applause:

Whats up? did you get your carbon panels drilled? I look everyday for new stuff, are you as bummed as I am that you got shunned by the ThumperTalk Gods for the thread of the year award I had nominated you for??:applause:

Still waiting for a new and improved picture of your bike, or some new little weight saving thingy you have found.

Hope to see something from you soon!!!!

Ciao rebelventurer, I'm still here!

A little carelessness is enough that the thread goes down.......:applause:

.......Whats up? did you get your carbon panels drilled?........I look everyday for new stuff..........

I'm not posted another pictures because I'm still working on my bike.

I have cutted a few panels, instead holes I’m waiting because I don’t know if painting them or not.

As I have answered in this thread.......

https://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=474427

.......I'm working at the header pipe, even if today I have suspended this work to pass to the disassembly of the swing arm, but this is another story......

........are you as bummed as I am that you got shunned by the ThumperTalk Gods for the thread of the year award I had nominated you for? ??.....

? Don't worry my friend, I'm not bummed, it has been a big pleasure that you have proposed me for the award, the proposal for me is already the prize and this is more enough!

........Still waiting for a new and improved picture of your bike, or some new little weight saving thingy you have found. Hope to see something from you soon!!!!

I hope too.

You must have a little patience, I have many things to let you see in the next few weeks (I hope.........)

Ciao and see you later. Piero

Piero, do not paint the carbon, it looks so trick in its raw form :applause:

As far as the color being different than the tank, strip the paint off the tank and polish it, would remove a few grams :applause: Also if you paint the carbon it will add weight? Keep the good work going, I cant seem to find time to work on my bike, have just completely rebuilt my sons Suzuki rm 100 and now I need to do the rm 65 ? but the bright side is that his riding skills are improving daily, and yes I have had him help with the whole process. We even designed and built our own press, though its a bit primative it worked just as I expected. Ciao

I have thought I would not paint the carbon fiber, because I like seeing the weft and I like very also the tank polished, in fact my RC30 at present is like that.......

........ the fairing is not in carbon fiber but it’s in glass fiber, however it looks like to the prototypes which the factory-team use before the beginning of the race season, before they paint them with the sponsor colours, however I keep the stock fairing on the shelf, because I want to take back the bike in the stock conditions.......these conditions.........

However, I always liked the XR also for his red colour, therefore I’m not able to imagine the XR with a little black, a little aluminium color and a little red, so I think that I will accept some more grams of paint just to see it red, even if I haven’t taken the decision yet.......:applause:

I’m curious to see your bike also bikes of your children, in Italy there aren’t so little displacement ( 50cc except).

I don’t have children (only a four years old nephew), must be beautiful see them to grow up and to become fond of the bike world, I think that your children are very lucky to have a father like you.

Piero, I am blushing at your compliments and kind words :applause: Your RC30 is very, very nice and I am sure you also have many hours in the modifications. I think a matching xr 650sm is in good taste, parking them side by side would be a thing of beauty.

I can not seem to insert pictures from my computer, do you have to have them stored online? would like to show some of the many I have of my children riding. We ride off road and mx have a few tracks on our property, if I ever get the photo thing figured out will post some pictures.

My daughter 14 chose horses over motorbikes, (which is better than boys) but both my sons 9 and 6 ride. They can't get enough!

My wife wants to know your profession, and how your wife feels (if your married) about all the time you spend tinkering with your motorbikes?:applause:

If you would pm me with your email address I do know how to attached photos to emails. I am a carpenter, and can't even type. But give me wood metal or anything physical and I can turn it into art? I am told anyway.

Ciao, hope to hear from you soon.
